About Koga.
Koga Productions is a video production and photography company in Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands. We make commercials, brand films, photography, short films and documentaries.
The story
Koga started when founder Joshua McField came home to Grand Cayman after studying computer engineering. He already owned a camera, a Panasonic G7 he bought in 2018. One Christmas he picked it up to take holiday photos in his free time, to see if he could make some money from it. He made $1,000 that season, and it was clear this could be a business.
Joshua spent the next year meeting the major creatives on the island and building a network with them, working toward his goal of becoming a director of photography.
Today Koga makes commercial narrative video and photography. Joshua leads creative direction and camera on every project, and brings in crew as each production needs it: grips, sound, hair and makeup, stylists and editors. Small shoots stay lean. Bigger shoots get the full crew.
Every project starts with the story. Who should see it, where it will run, and what it needs to make people do. Then we plan the shoot around that.
